Sprint CEO Bonus Protected From Drop

Wireless carrier Sprint Nextel Corp. added the iPhone to their product line during 2011. The large costs involved caused a $1.3 billion loss during the fourth quarter of the year, larger than expected according to Anton Troianovski. He reported Sprint decided not to count any excess costs against the bonus of CEO Dan Hesse.

“The third-largest wireless carrier in the U.S., spelled out the magnitude of its bet on the iPhone in late October, saying it will cost at least $15.5 billion over four years, limiting its ability to turn a profit over that time,” the Wall Street Journal article detailed.
